Segway specifically positions the X4 platform around four-wheel-drive terrain performance, wide cutting capacity and faster coverage rather than simply increasing battery size.

Built for Large, Challenging Properties

The X450 fills a very specific role in the RoboMaintain lineup: large-property capacity plus AWD terrain performance.

For properties around one acre with difficult terrain, the X430 may provide everything you need.

For properties approaching 1.5 acres where slopes, uneven terrain or traction are also concerns, the X450 is the stronger X4 choice.

If the property is relatively flat and maximum acreage is more important than AWD capability, the X390 should also be considered. Its recommended capacity reaches 2.5 acres, making the X390 and X450 fundamentally different tools rather than one simply being “better.” Segway currently confirms X390 at 2.5 acres and X450 at 1.5 acres.

Property size is only part of robotic mower selection. Tree canopy, satellite visibility, slopes, narrow passages, separate mowing areas and overall property layout can all affect system performance.
